Is this a bug or a feature, I am not sure about that. I have met people who think that this is a bug, and there were a few others who said this is a feature. The behavior in question is this, after updating to Android 7.1.1, Pixel phones go to Do Not Disturb mode while making or receiving calls.
The phone goes to DND mode the moment you dial a number. The same happens when you answer a call. Soon after you finish the call, the DND mode is switched off and you start receiving other notifications.
Let me also add that I started noticing this after Android 7.1.1, and I am not 100% sure if this has been the case even with Android 7.1. However, I tested this on my friend’s Nexus 5x running Android 7.1.1 and this did not happen on that device. So, is this a Pixel only bug / feature?
The next question is, do you like this feature (assuming that this is a feature)? I would not have any issue with this on quick calls that last for only couple of minutes, and most of my calls are like this. However, there are situations where I talk to someone for more than 10 minutes, continuously. Is this feature ideal for such situations ?
What do you guys think, let me know in comments!
