So I picked up an iPad mini the other day for G This G That. I loaded it with iOS 7 so that I can give you all a walk through of using Google Products on iOS 7, the newest from Apple. The first app that I can going to tell you about is Gmail.
Gmail for iOS 7 – Download and Install
Installation steps haven’t changed a lot from the previous version of iOS. Here is a quick run-down
- Open up App Store
- Search for Gmail
- Touch the download icon, the cloud with a down arrow
The Gmail app for iOS should now start downloading on your iOS device. Once loaded, you can set it up.
Gmail for iOS 7 – Setting it up
Once the app is installed, touch the Gmail icon and open it. You will be presented with the login screen. Enter your Google user ID and password to sign in.
iOS will ask if you would like to allow Gmail to send you push notifications. Say yes because you need to know when emails arrive. You can disable this from settings later if you want to.
You will be presented with a tour of Gmail for iOS 7. You can take this tour or skip by touching “Go to Inbox”
The settings page gives you control to change the notifications. You can choose to get notifications only for Primary or all new emails.
The settings also gives option to set up a mobile signature and vacation responder too, if you are interested.
The app looks cool on iOS 7. Can’t wait to try it!
