The Google Drive app on Android has an interesting feature, it can make your Android phone a scanner. The best part is, since this feature is part of the Google Drive platform, all your scans are automatically stored on your Google Drive account.
Useful if you want to keep track of receipts bills and other documents on the go. There is nothing much of a set up needed if you have the Google Drive app installed.
How to do it!
- Open the Google Drive app on your Android phone and touch the Plus icon
- Select Scan
- Click a picture of the document
- Crop if you want to
- Touch the square icon (second icon) to change settings like color. By default the document is loaded in black and white. You can switch to color from here.
- Touch the tick mark icon when ready!
That’s it! Your document should now be available on your Google Drive account as a PDF document.
There is one more thing that they should add to make this perfect though. Saving all scans to a Scanned Documents folder inside Google Drive, instead of putting all of them in to the main folder. This will save us some more time. No sorting/moving/ required!
